Thundercats! Hooooooooooo!

The 80's animated series "Thundercats" will be getting a live action big screen treatment courtesy of Warner Bros and screenwriter Paul Sopocy.

A popular toy franchise and cartoon, Thundercats enjoyed tremendous success during its 130 episode run. It also briefly was picked up as a comic book by Marvel.

The story focuses on a group of hybrid human/feline heroes with super human powers defending their lively hoods from the evil Mum-Ra.

The heroes include such names as Lion-O, Panthra, Cheetara, and the shy yet heroic "Snarf." The story of the movie is said to be an origin tale of how Lion-O came to be the leader of the Thundercats.
